COPREX, the competition sponsored by Steppe Metal Powder (SMP) on was concluded on 20 June 2023. The purpose the competition was to award and collaborate with researchers who came up with new product ideas and research which can be applied to SMP’s copper and copper alloy powder.

SMP concluded a copper powder sales agreement with Global Mongolia, a trading company operating in the EU. The parties are expecting a long-term mutually beneficial cooperation in unlocking the global market together.

On March 29, 2023, the Center for Advanced Materials and Parts of Powder (CAMP2) of Kongju National University of the Republic of Korea, Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), and Steppe Metal Powder LLC signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Cheonan Campus of Kongju National University. 

Members of the Parliament of Mongolia visited Steppe Metal Powder (SMP) on 18 January 2023 to get a first-hand look at the SMP's water atomized metal powder plant and learn about its various initiatives.

Steppe Metal Powder (SMP), the Mongolia’s first metal powder plant, has been accepted as an associate member of the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) on 9 January 2023. The membership request was reviewed and approved by the EPMA’s Board and Council.

SMP’s this recent membership entails wider collaboration opportunities between SMP and customers, suppliers and research institutes not only in Europe, but also worldwide. Also, through SMP, Mongolian researchers, entrepreneurs and interested parties shall have more access to European industry stakeholders.
